Evaluation of tumor-induced osteomalacia with 111In-pentetreotide scintigraphy.
In cases of nonhereditary osteomalacia associated with hypophosphatemia and inadequate response to vitamin D supplementation, one should consider the possibility of tumor-induced osteomalacia, a paraneoplastic syndrome caused by small mesenchymal tumors often found in obscure locations. We present a case of tumor-induced osteomalacia in which (111)In-pentetreotide scintigraphy aided in accurate...
متن کاملassessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea
data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...
the role of application of dynamic assessment approach in improvement of iranian efl writing performance at different language proficiency levels
the present study sought to investigate the role of dynamic assessment (da) in improvement of iranian efl writing performance at different language proficiency levels. to this end, after conducting the quick placement test, 60 iranian efl learners were assigned to two groups with different language proficiency levels. in both groups each participant wrote two compositions, one before and one af...
An unusual case of multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 and the role of 111In-pentetreotide scintigraphy.
A 50-year-old woman is described with a very unusual combination of MEN-1 syndrome with a negative family history. At first she had been treated because of a clinically non-functioning pituitary adenoma in the maxillary sinus. Six years later a carcinoid tumour was discovered by means of 111In-pentreotide scintigraphy.
متن کاملAdded value of gastrin receptor scintigraphy in comparison to somatostatin receptor scintigraphy in patients with carcinoids and other neuroendocrine tumours.
Gastrin receptor scintigraphy (GRS) is a new imaging method primarily developed for the detection of metastases of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC). As gastrin-binding CCK(2) receptors are also expressed on a variety of other neuroendocrine tumours (NET), we compared GRS to somatostatin receptor scintigraphy (SRS) in patients with NET. SRS and GRS were performed within 21 days in a series of 6...
